Westbury Double-Cutaway?!!!

Westbury Double-Cutaway?!!!

Unicord Corporation was a musical instrument manufacturer from the United States that started in the early1960s. Univox was one of their long running brands that offered guitars, basses, amplifiers and effects. Univox is known by many for their contribution to music equipment mostly made in Japan. Case-in-point are their Matsumoku-built guitars and basses like the Mosrite-esque Hi-Fliers, the Uni-Vibe modulation effect used by Jimi Hendrix… and the Super-Fuzz was also a big hit…

Another brand that Unicord Corp had was Westbury, named after their New York based headquarters. The Westbury name was on some electric guitars, basses and amplifiers in the late 70s and early 80s.

Here’s one from the 80s that caught us by surprise… It’s a double-cutaway, set neck design with a tasteful German beveled body and natural gloss finish. Hard to let this one go for $899 with original case. Here’s some more specs:

-Two hot humbuckers

-Intonatable wraparound bridge

-3 way pickup selector switch

-Rosewood fingerboard

-Non-original nickel Keystone-style tuning machines
