Equipment for New Players

We get asked a lot, “What do you have for beginners?” And we’re not too snooty to have some things for players who are getting started. There’s some great starter amps, electric guitars and basses here for you if you’re just getting going. Here’s a couple that come recommended:

-Epiphone Les Paul Jr. These are excellent electric guitars with classic tones and a straight up approach. Single humbucker pickup, volume and tone control, plus upgraded Grover tuner makes this a bargain at $165.

-Vox Pathfinder 10 practice amp. Suited for practicing guitar, these 10 watt Vox amps are awesome. You get a nice clean sound, some nice little overdriven tones and EQ. $109.99 New

-Blackstar’s Unity Bass Series amps made a big splash when we first brought them in last year. This U60 is a slam dunk for most bass practicing needs. It features a 10″ speaker, 60 watts, chorus, overdrive and EQ. $339.99 New

-Aria Pro II Jazz Bass. Aria guitars and basses have been around for decades making quality stuff. This Jazz-style bass is a Fender copy worth a look if you’re on a budget. It blows those Squiers away. $349 New
