Turnip Greens is a clever and creative overdrive and reverb pedal from Electro-Harmonix that combines their Soul Food and their Holy Grail Max. Each effect has the same controls as the originals, and a toggle which changes their order in the chain. Plus there’s an effects loop send and return, allowing the player to insert effects into the signal path between the two.
The Holy Grail Max reverbs are excellent live or in the studio. There’s four to choose from here; Spring, Hall, Plate and Reverse. As for the Overdrive side, the Soul Food can be used subtly for a clean boost or pushed harder into classic overdrive and distortion tones. It also plays well with other dirt pedals and can be used in combination for stacking.
All in all, a very cool unit with tons of potential for tone-shaping. Definitely worth checking into.
