We recommend the MXR FOD overdrive/distortion pedal for those who enjoy the heavy stuff. This thing covers a lot of terrain for a dirt pedal and we like it.
Essentially it’s two amps in a box, one side is a Marshall style crunch and the other a scooped Mesa-esque high-gain distortion. The blend knob takes you from one to the other or a combination. It’s supposed to emulate the double stack… like running two amps. The controls add more variety and versatility. There’s a global tone control, a toggle to boost, flatten or scoop the mid-range, and gain and output controls for each amp style but one side is internal trim pots. Makes a tons of saturated tones for those that love the riffage and have a discerning ear for the modern.
