Korg introduced their Wavestation in the 90s, unlocking the potential of wave sequencing to the synth world. The Wavestate (pictured here) expands on those innovations and takes wave sequencing to some next-level territory. The density of this machine is astonishing yet the interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. It’s a portable format with 37 full-size keys packed with gigabytes of samples, 64 stereo voices,, and tons of effects with hands-on controls.
Digital synthesizers have come along way in 20 years. They took a bit of a backseat for a minute, but now synth players have come back three-fold and Korg has been heating up the R&D to continue producing amazing, modern instruments. The Wavestate could be a good fit if you’re in the market for a new synth.
